I'm KaylaAnn. Studying in Seoul, South Korea. I told my mother I would keep a food blog so that she knows I'm still alive XD here's what I'm eating in Korea~

  1.

    포도

My (Korean) roommate brought us home some grapes tonight :3

Pretty standard grapes, but they seem to taste especially sweet tonight~

  2.

    Chicken Delivery~!

The other night, my roommate and I ordered fried chicken (curry and regular) for supper!! :D

It was my first time to eat delivered chicken in the dorm ^.^

My roommate loves the spring onions (the green stuff on top) a lottttt.

It was all very tasty, but the curry chicken especially was delicious~~

  3.

    잡채

Today, I (kind of) cooked my first Korean dish…….with my language class XD

Overall, it was fun to make. Our group messed up a lot (cut things the wrong way/to the wrong size, burnt our fried eggs, confused the salt and the sugar, etc.) but it was still tasty in the end ^_____^

  4.

    팔색삼겹살

The other night we went to a restaurant known for having 팔색삼겹살, or eight colors samgyeopsal, in Sinchon (near Grand Mart!)

The eight flavours of pork that we had were: ginseng, original, wine, herb, curry, miso, pine needles (possibly my favourite), and, of course, kimchi! They were all very, very tasty :D

The staff was also very nice~

  5.

    Cafe Arvo~

We visit Cafe Arvo a lot.

Because it’s near to campus. It’s open late. The staff is very nice. It’s a good place to sit and chat or study or just chill.

Their drinks are actually good ^^

And because Cafe Arvo is just really cute.

    <3

  6.

    Snow Spoon

There is a cute little frozen yogurt place in Hongdae called Snow Spoon.

We have similar places like this back home, like Red Mango (Red Mango in Korea is completely different) and I love them!!

You get to pick and serve your own frozen yogurt flavour (they have several to choose from!!) then you add whatever toppings you want :D

Here is what we ended up with ^~^

So delicious!! And the prices weren’t too bad either…. >o<~

However, they were pretty busy when we went, so seating was a bit difficult, so I suggest going in the evenings (especially on the weekend) ㅋㅋ

…We also bought these cute teddy bear chocolate cookies from Snow Spoon!!

    They were about $1 each~

  7.

    Jesters!

We went to a pot-pie place in Hongdae, called Jesters :)

The prices were really good and they had so many different kinds to choose from.

I ended up with a breakfast pot pie (eggs, ham, cheese, etc) and a maharaja (chicken, spicy cheese, etc) ^_^

They were so yummy!! And the couple that runs the place is so nice ^o^

Next time I go back, though, I want to try a fruit pie XD

  8.

    Angel-In-Us Coffee~

The other morning, we made an early stop at Sinchon’s Angel-In-Us Coffee shop.

I ordered a frozen Vanilla Cream Mocha (right)

Not highly recommended….mine, at least, tasted odd. Very sweet at first, but a strong, weird after-taste…

  9.

    Bulgogi Gratin

The other day we ate in our school’s student union building. I ordered some bulgogi gratin.

It was really good (if you like mushrooms >o<) but no matter how much of it I ate, it still felt like my plate was full x____x

  10.

    Lotteria corn :l

The other day we had lunch at Lotteria in Dongdaemun, and my foul friend Joshua pressured me into tasting the delightful Lotteria corn cup.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS ITEM TO ANYONE.

  11.

    Chloris

Tonight, the girls and I went to the Chloris Tea & Coffee cafe in Hongdae ^.^

For such a place in such a location, the prices were realllllly good :)

I ordered an iced mocha u___u it was delicious

My friend ordered…something raspberry >.<…..anyway, I thought it was cute how they put little flower buds on top of her drink =3

    It smelled sooooo good =D

  12.

    Supper in Gangdong-gu~

I went out last night with a friend in Gangdong ^_^

We ate at a skewer restaurant :D

We started with some fried egg and soju ^.^

Then we had some mini hot-dogs wrapped in bacon =3

And finished up with some fried chicken skin <3

    It was soooooooo yummy XD

    I recommend this meal~~~~

  13.

    Popcorn & Potatoes!

We always order some cheese popcorn from MegaBox whenever we go to see movies~ it’s like the cheese popcorn we used to always get from the tins at Christmastime ^3^

(Bad quality pics because it was so dark in the theatre T___T)

One time we also ordered some potato wedges for the movie~~

  14.

    Sandwich from Cafe Kkini~

This is my bulgogi ciabatta sandwich from our dorm’s Cafe Kkini~

I thought it was cute how they tried to make it look like a heart <3

  15.

    Horse

While in Japan, my friends ate some raw horse meat (among other things).

    [it’s the red one]

    I did not u______u
